" Now was that civilized? No. Clearly not. Fun. But by no means civilized" Brain Gremlin. Yes Gremlins 2 The New Batch is here. I'm super excited to share this fun episode with all of you today to get you laughing and enjoy the great music of Jerry Goldsmith. He really worked his magic on this score and in my opinion, it is one of his best comedy scores. It's right up there with The Burbs. So sit back, relax as I share with you my thoughts on this great under appreciated film.

Let it be known that as having a guest on my show, Jenn from the Shake the Sheets podcast is guesting on my show today as we discuss Hook from 1991. We discuss some great tidbits on the film itself with background on the cast like the late Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman and the late Bob Hoskins. We also discuss some on the special effects and makeup in the film. The prime reason is for the score by John Williams. This is an episode that should not be missed. Listen and enjoy!

With a classically trained composer Chris Edgar, I interview him with Jenn Paige the director of the film Playing With Beethoven. The film hit theaters on Nov. 26th. You can also rent the film on Vudu, Amazon, and other places. I discuss with Chris, his influences, his background, the specific process for recording live with classically trained players of orchestral instruments, as well as some other unique tools he has learned in his collaboration with Jenn Paige. Jenn Paige has been an actress, and now has become a director who directed the film The Breakout The Rock Opera. Now going on with this new project Playing with Beethoven. Both are very skilled and enjoy the light conversation surrounding the film. Along the way you'll hear some well placed cues from the film and from other projects given the scope and range that these two fine creatives have given us. Today on Soundtrack Alley, I'll be discussing an interview I did with ELIZABETH PHILLIPSON WEINER. We discuss some of her music and the films she has worked on.
Elizabeth was born and raised just outside of Philadelphia, PA. Experienced in a wide variety of genres of music, Elizabeth loves to connect with filmmakers and the collaborative art of film scoring. Her music combines unique synth sounds with organic instruments to create bespoke sound palates for each project.
Her scores have premiered in films at the Tribeca Film Festival, Hollyshorts, Urbanworld Film Festival, and Raindance. She’s written the music for everything from non-profit campaigns to congressional campaigns. She is currently scoring a feature film directed by Stacey Maltin for Besties Make Movies.
We discussed her early work and how she got involved with film music, her work on film festivals and the amazing work through the Tribeca Film Festival. We also discussed her music for a few new films yet to be released and I share music from some of her amazing career. I hope you enjoy the show.
