Cue Perception 9

Wednesday Jun 30, 2021

Wednesday Jun 30, 2021

Today on Cue Perception you'll hear as I nerd out about a cue from an anime film that almost didn't happen, but encompasses all anime in a single film. Mech armor robots, ultra super hero females, battles to the death, annoying side characters that make you want to scream and so much more. The film I speak of is Project A-Ko. It was directed by Katsuhiko Nishijima and the animation style was from a multitude of artist and animators.
There are so many facts in regard to the production in this one episode alone. The cue that I chose is highly energetic and if you have never seen the film, I urge you, no I implore you to seek it out and watch it, possibly for multiple viewings.

Do you remember two hidden gems of Disney? Two hallmarks of animation that took scores in a different direction and showed you could tell a story with classic composers and still have a modern sensibility? Well today I look back at The Great Mouse Detective and Oliver & Company. Two films about the little guys. Mice and Dogs and Cats. This is the show for you today. I present this as I look back at the voice talent, the animation styles and even the eclectic scores of these two brilliant films. Come with me and join me as I go into depth on these. Enjoy!

Join me and Erika Christie as we breakdown the film, it's background and of course discuss the score on today's episode. Let's shrink to the size of a blood cell and enter innerspace!
